"Skate Fun Facts"

Alan Gelfand invented the "ollie", a very important history of skateboarding

More than 18 million people own a skateboard in the United States alone. 85% of these individuals are less than 18 years of age.

The culture of skateboarding emerged in California. It was mainly designed as the ground equivalent of surfing in the water. The first skateboards actually had handles on them that allowed a person to move them.

Approximately 800,000 people are seen by medical professionals annually due to skateboarding injuries.

The Tony Hawk video games are among the most popular in the world. There are many versions of them to check out. He has spent hours being video taped so that movements are very realistic to what he is know to do in real life.
Between 1978 and 1989, skateboards were banned in Norway. The reason for the prohibition of skateboards was as a result of the high number of injuries that Norwegian skateboarders suffered

The military began using skateboards for some indoor maneuvers in 1997.
One of the biggest failures in marketing for Levi brand of jeans was when they tried to appeal to the style of skateboarders.

Skate Discussion

Skateboarding Pilipinas

“What’s your motivation to skate?”

By: Ryan James

So what’s your motivation to skate? For me it’s like a get way from all the stress, pissing off my dad (Kidding), and just wanting to get better in what I do. Really you don’t need much motivation to skateboard, just passion. Why passion? Because, without passion in then how else will you go far in anything?Have passion and dedication in what you do. In this case skateboarding.Don’t let anyone tell you “That you can’t skate.” Prove them wrong! If it’s your parents that are trying to stop you from skating. Well try to make them understand that you love what you do. Look at P-rod! You think he’d become pro if he listen to his dad?!NO! So I guess another motivation of mine is. I want to become pro and skate with the other pros.A motivation can also be a dream. So, I’ll ask you again.

What’s your motivation to skate?

P2 DECK,,SPRING LOADED POP!
GIMIK?? OR IS IT THE REAL DEAL
zero P2 decks

Is this the future of skateboarding?? or is it a gimick ( para madaming bumili), the first company to release this kind of board is FLIP, then PLAN B (gaya-gaya), then Zero ( nagselos, kaya gumaya din)

P2 DECK Construction which includes an oval shaped aramid fiber reinforcement panel which enhances the natural performance and pop of the supporting 7 thin veneers of maple. The result is a lighter board with exceptional resilience, creating a "Spring Loaded Pop" effect."... Bakit ganun, parang  ALMOST lang, diba fiber reinforce din yung deck ng ALMOST, bakit hindi naman nila sinabi na lalakas ang pop,

Anyway, its up to the user..
